Buenos dias!
Bom eu sei que faz SECULOS que eu nao escrevo nada aqui, mas é que é muito ruim quando se está viajando ficar sentado na frente do computador né?
Mas entao, vou resumir bem o que fizemos!
Resolvemos ir pra Jericoacoara, que fica 300 km de Fortaleza, mas nao se engane e pense que sao apenas 3 horas, porque sao umas 7-8! Tem que ir de onibus ateh uma cidade chamada Jijoca, de la vc pega uma hardineira que vai pelas dunas e pela praia, é uma viagem incrivel, tanto de manha quando a noite! Jeri é um lugar PERFEITO, é bem turistico la, mas eu gostei bastante pela segurança, pelo tamanho e etc. Se vc quiser ficar sozinho, ficar sentado num canto pensando na vida é só andar 20 minutos pra qualquer direção que vc consegue! Tem as dunas la que sao MARAVILHOSAS, e outra coisa, voce pode assistir ao por do sol mais lindo da sua vida de cima das dunas, porque em Jeri o sol de por NO MAR! A noite tem varias barraquinhas na praia e fica todo mundo la bebendo, é como se fosse uma balada a céu aberto! A noite tem um lugar chamado Mama Africa também que é muito bom a entrada é só 3 reais. Oura coisa de Jeri é que SÓ TEM EUROPEU la, juro, eu me senti o gringo la, era o único neguinho! hehehe
Depois disso seguiriamos viagem sentido São luis, pra quem quiser saber como chega é só ir pra Camocim - mais ou menos 30 reais de Jeri - e de la ir pra Sao Luis - 80 e poucos, mas como o Senhor Oliver queria voltar pra Fortaleza, voltamos, ficamos aqui até hoje - segunda feira dia 17/08 e hoje a noite estamos indo pra São Luis! A empresa que faz esse trecho é a Guanabara e o preço da passagem é de 140 reais!
No fds aqui SEMPRE tem algo acontecendo conheci outras baladas, muito boas, recomendo o Orbita principalmente, achei a melhor, pra quem gosta de musica mais alternativa tem o Music Box, pra quem gosta de lugar mais arrumado tem o Mucuripe Club, e pra quem gosta de House/Pop tem a Meet!

Party continues PART III
06.08.09- 16.08.09
As followers of the travel blog might have noticed there haven´t been any updates for 10 days. That is first of all a matter of limited time at the computer, but secondly, and that´s objectively the greater impact, that we didn´t want to miss out on any activities, parties and meetings of the wonderful couchsurfing community in Fortaleza. The time here has flown and we had planned only 2 nights in Fortaleza, now we already stayed 10.
In between Fortaleza and Fortaleza we spend one and a half days in Jericoacoara, a `backpacker´s hideaway´ as Lonely Planet calls it, but it could be described as a european colony somewhere in Far Far Away!
It is a 7 hours journey away from Fortaleza and already the way there is an adventure. The last 25 km are on a dirt road, but if you expect a dirt road, don´t be disappointed, it´s more like a dirt path in between sand dunes, the beach, villages which surprisingly seem to recieve TV-signals and neverending grass-and bushland. The beauty of Jericoacoara is its isolated location with a great, shiny sky at night, its sourrounding sand dunes and a unique sunset in Brazil on the sea which can be seen from one of the sand dunes. It does sound romantic, well, it is. Jeri is the perfect place for a honeymoon, a place to spend time in a hammock, drinking Caipirinha from one of the many mobile beach esplanade drink sellers or just enjoy the hideaway for meeting other travellers. It is hard though to meet brazilians or locals, due to its high prices. Well, we are back in Fortaleza and don´t know how much time we´ll allow more to experience the many joys of Ceara´s capital.

Bom, eu fiquei BEM doente por causa da insolação que eu peguei em Porto de Galinhas, por isso ficamos num albergue em Recife. Além de estar doente, minhas coisas foram roubadas, estavmos todos dormindo no quarto, eu com minha mochila do meu lado, mas ocmo eu estava super mal eu nem escutei nada. Levaram meu computador, ipod, etcs. mas fazer o que é a vida né!
01.08 - 03.08
Acordei bem pior e resolvi ir ao hospital, sorte que tem UNIMED aqui no nordeste, e é bom! Pelo menos em Recife. Tomei soro na veia e algumas outras medicações, e depois disso fomos encontrar com nosso Host do Couchsurfing. Um ótima maravilhosa pessoaque fez TUDO que podia e o que nao podia pra nos fazer nos sentir melhor! Como eu ainda estava me sentindo mal, eu fiquei todos os dias praticamente dentro do apartamento de cama. Só fui 1 dia pra Olinda por algumas horas, mas a cidade de Recife mesmo nao conheci muito bem. Finalmente no dia 3 eu estava melhor e resolvi pegar o primeiro onibus pra Fortaleza! Viemos a noite, peganmos o onibus as 7 da noite. COMPREM PASSAGENS ANTES DA VIAGEM! Esse negocio de comprar 1 hora antes nao funciona muito bem aqui! A passagem convencional custava 118 reais, mas tinha acabado, tivemos sorte e conseguimos comprar no Onibus mais caro, por 180 reais! Depois de 14 horas, chegamos em Fortaleza! =)

Fomos direto pra casa do nosso Host do Coushsurfing, foi bem facil de chegar tivemos que pegar 2 onibus só. Chegando la conhecemos Juliana de Floripa, Alejandro da Argentina, Alon de Israel, e Gerson - o nosso Host. Um povo MEGA animado, aqui em Fortaleza os Couchsurfers estao SEMPRE juntos, entao todos os dias varios couchsurfers e seus guests vinham aqui, ou nos encontravamos todos num bar em algum lugar. Conhecemos praticamente Fortaleza toda! ahah Todo lugar que vamos encontramos alguem conhecido, sempre vamos a praia do futuro, mais ou menos uma hora de onibus daqui, e nos encontramos com todos, sempre! Conhecemos varios lugares aqui também, é bem legal ficar nas barracas da Praia do Futuro, mas fique até 4 - 5 horas no MAXIMO porque fica bem perigoso e vazio esse horario. O que é BEM LEGAL aqui de Fortaleza é que poraticamente todos os lugares pra sair a noite ficam no Dragao do Mar, que é uma praça aqui. Na praça mesmo tem uma feirinha, um bar com musica ao vivo, um milhao de pessoas andando, é super seguro, e em volta tem todas as baladas daqui. Tem pra todos os gostos, Órbita na esquina, de quinta tem musica de surf com umas bandas ao vivo, e depois DJ com musica eletronica (eu acho um PORRE), logo do lado tem uma balada que tem forró, na outra esquina tem o The Pub, ontem teve Beatles Cover la, tem a Music Box, que é uma balada mais alternativas, toca Pop e Indie. Todas, pelo menos pro preço de São Paulo, sao EXTREMAMENTE BARATAS! Entrada de 10 a 15 reais, agua - 2 REAIS SIM! DOIS REAIS, Cerveja 3 reais, Caipirinha - 4 reais, Drinks em geral - 9 reais! Juro, as coisas aqui sao praticamente de graça!
Dica: se vier pra Fortaleza, nao fique em Hostel, Hotel, Pousada, fique em Couchsurfing, vc vai conhecer toda a galera daqui que é bem animada, além de conhecer todos os outros couchsurfers, ou seja, vc nunca está sozinho, sempre vai ter alguem pra fazer alguma coisa com voce! :)

news: 31.07.09 - 06.08.09

Marcos was sick and we stayed in the hostel in Recife. We were in our bedroom for the whole time and got ROBBED! A guy who stayed in the hostel for 4 days came into our shared room at midnight and pretended to look for a power plug to charge his phone. It gave him plenty of possibilities to check out our stuff and see if we were asleep or not.
I wasn´t and talked to him, but when we woke up at 4 am. because a peruvian guy was missing his Pantalones we noticed:
one missing pair of jeans of the peruvian
missing money of the peruvian
missing watch
missing Marcosses Ipod and Macbook - thats why we didnt have any possibility to post lately...

We left the hostel the next morning after calling the police and went to a hospital to get Marcos checked due to his illness.
In the afternoon we got picked up by our host from Recife to stay at his place.
Even though he was really busy he found time for us not to only pick us up but have lunch and dinner together, great conversations and a lot of fun! Thank you a lot at that point for the great time.
I explored the antigue centre of Recife ( which is not recommendable for a stay longer than 2 hours) and surroundings. It has to be said that the small streets in the city centre can be very dangerous and travellers should avoid being there at night. The district Sao Antonio has a lot of street prostitution and for me it was one of the saddest things to see young and pretty girls looking like death itself - drugaddicted and broken as a person.

We visited Olinda 6 km away from Recife.
Olinda is one of the most beautiful towns of Brazil due to its amazingly well restored colonial architecture. The town is perfect for a few hours of walking and enjoying not only the beaty of itself but of Recife: Recifes skyline, harbour and beach can be seen from Olinda´s highest point.
Olinda´s sacral architecture was quite astouning for me, but sadly every church was closed.
The beach in Olinda is not a tourist place and only locals visit it. Swimming and going into the water is forbidden due to high risk of shark attacks.
If you want to visit the local favela - look out for a mid-aged rastaman near the beach area ;)
At night I visited a spectacular light spectacle at the Apolo-theatre back in Recife which was produced by our couchsurfing hosts! I had a great time and enjoyed the show. It was amazing how much can be done with light arrangements and sound.

I spent the whole morning walking back from the city centre to find our place where we stayed and I couldn´t believe how hard it was to keep on going in the right direction due to Recife´s crazy structure. Do not leave home without a map and some phrases in portugese!!!
At night we left Recife from the Bus Terminal which is outside town and easily reachable by Metro to Fortaleza - a 14 hour drive north.

We arrived in Fortaleza in the morning and took another bus to our couchsurfing place.
We found ourselves at place crowded with travellers and a overwhelmingly nice and friendly host. In a ´two-room´-appartment we stayed with 2 Brazilians, 1 Argentinian, 1 Israeli. Great adventure.
At night we went to some bar enjoying the company of about 15 people, drinking, eating grilled cheese and meat,talking, singing and playing the flute and a small brazilian guitar! Great night out!

I woke up in the hammock the other way round I remembered I had fallen asleep in...Crazy night.
We spend a great, relaxing day on the beach - Praia de Futuro , which is a bit out of town and not a very special beach, don´t go just to see the beach and kite surfers; go if you go with many people, if you love palm tree roofs, cheap drinks, crabs for 2,50Reais and juice.
At night we went to some bar enjoying the company of about 15 people, drinking, eating grilled cheese and meat,talking, singing...( yes, I just copied and pasted the last part..)
We were invited to stay at a new friends´s appartment on the 25th floor, because it was directly on the beach and we wanted to go there the next morning. It was a great feeling being that high up - not common for europeans.
